TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCE AT WORK
Technology, a collection of techniques, skills, methods, and processes used in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as scientific investigation. Technology has important effects on business operations. No matter the size of your enterprise, technology has both tangible and intangible benefits that will help you make money and produce the results your customers demand. Technological infrastructure affects the culture, efficiency and relationships of a business. There are 6 categories of technology. Construction, transportation, energy/power, communication, manufacturing, bio-Related.
15 years back people could see the happenings today as impossibilities but the world of technology has changed that thinking. I remember watching sci-fi movies with flying cars, human structure cars (transformers) and robots in movies like terminator. Among people back in my home in Africa many argued about the existence of what they see in movies and some concluded that they are not watching such movies again due to the false information in them
The fact is that movies were introducing us to the current world of technology and science. The rapid growth of tech has made myths true and impossibilities happen such as transforming cars, robots like Sofia” Sophia is a social humanoid robot developed by Hong Kong-based Company Hanson Robotics. In October 2017, the robot became a Saudi Arabian citizen, the first robot to receive citizenship of any country. While interviewers around the world have been impressed by the sophistication of many of Sophia’s responses and this has proven that movies have an importance that’s more than entertainment.
It’s such a progress what science and technology have achieved. At present there is lab meat(capable of processing both red meat and poultry species), made from lab materials and tastes with important needs of the body. Among many creations also are self-driven cars, builds built with nano material (Nanotechnology is manipulation of matter on an atomic, molecular, and supramolecular scale) and robots that are washing away the age of human labour in big companies.
Technology has come to benefit mostly the well-off class but also destruction to the low class earners. For example some airports introduced a system where customers check in at arriving in the country without the help of a physical man., using advanced tech you show your identification at a machine and you good to go. This means that 100s of employees that worked in these positions are now job seekers. Other disadvantages of technology include Job loss – replacing humans; World destruction weapons – increasing endless wars; Increased loneliness – social isolation; Competency – increased dependency on modern tools that reduces our creativity and intelligence
